First off, thank you to everyone who made the event at Brandywine Kitchen here in Bellingham! We are so grateful to you for sending us your words, sharing them with the world, and joining us in community!
This experience has been a rush for us. A tangle of arms, legs, and deadlines to make it happen, and we are so grateful to our authors for working with us to make it happen. Autumnal Issue: Hearth Songs to Special Issue ‘24 After Dark was our first back-to-back issue sequence. And with under a month from submissions closing to publication, After Dark is officially the quickest turnaround we’ve ever had. So worth the effort!

Salish Sea Phonebook Event November 9th!
HamLit will be included in a forthcoming poetry phone book, compiled by the The Salish Sea Poetry Festival folks and distributed on Saturday, November 9 at their Poetry Pop-Up—an all-ages “poetry crawl” through breweries and other spaces in the Sunnyland neighborhood of Bellingham.
This free booklet will help the public connect with Bellingham and Whatcom County poetry organizations. It will also give attendees something tangible to take home after the pop-up has (re)ignited their love of poetry.
As their Facebook Event Page says:
Presented by the Salish Sea Poetry Festival, this fun "crawl" of four local Sunnyland hangouts connects poets and poetry groups with each other and the community.
Enjoy spoken poetry in a public house setting and taste local fare. Meet regional writers and learn about the groups that support them. Network at the meet and greet, and then explore each stop with featured poets from the local writing groups below.
FOUR LOCATIONS, ONE NEIGHBORHOOD
1pm Greene's Corner | 2208 James Street - Meet & Greet
2pm Kulshan Brewing Sunnyland | 2238 James St - Chuckanut Sandstone Writers Theater

4pm El Suenito Brewing Company | 1926 Humboldt St - SpeakEasy
Hope to see you there, Hammies!
