Dear HamLit Community,
We hope this message finds you well and surrounded by creativity. First and foremost, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us for our first ever live reading at Ponderosa Beer and Books! Coming together through writing is a longtime dream of ours at HamLit, as some of our brightest joys come from events like the one we all shared!
So again, thank you. Whether you were reading your work aloud or listening from the audience, your energy and enthusiasm made the event a success. HamLit thrives on the passion and talent of each contributor, and we are grateful for the vibrant literary culture we are building together.
Issue 07: Due West — Submissions Now Open
With all the Issue 06 and reading event excitement, Issue 07: Due West has opened quietly under the radar, and we are eager to read your poetry and fiction! As always, the interpretation of the theme can go as deep as you’d like; will it be a journey into the unknown, reflection on sunsets, a modern odyssey, struggling with change, a horizon of dreams, or something you haven’t quite put your finger on yet? Submissions are open through February 15, 2024. Let’s create another exceptional edition together!

On the Horizon
As 2024 days lengthen, keep an eye out for our upcoming Golden Shovel challenge this April, spooky stories in October with our first ever HamLit After Dark special issue, and updates as we pursue incorporation as a non-profit. We love growing and expanding with you!
And again, thank you for investing your inspiration and enthusiasm into the heart of HamLit. We had such a blast with you at the live reading and can’t wait to do it again this summer. See you in Issue 07!
