Dear Wonderful HamLit Community,
It’s a new year. Today we celebrate five years of bringing you evocative creative writing from the Pacific Northwest. There’s never a way to know how the future will look and, for this reason, we are happy to still be here and grateful that you’re still here with us. Together, we can face whatever tomorrow brings.
Looking ahead, we have a few items that will hopefully bring you some joy in 2025.
Poetry Walk!
On Thursday, February 20, HamLit will participate in the Salish Sea Poetry Festival! Your editors attended the inaugural Walk last November and had such a good time they invited us back to host! While full details are still forthcoming, the current plan is for us to present the 8 p.m. reading at Amendment 21 in the heart of downtown Bellingham, WA. If you’re a published HamLit author with poetry to share, keep an eye out for an email from us.
HamLit Theme Drops in March 2025
The next theme for HamLit will be announced in March 2025! We will be pairing it with the American Southwest and West African Monsoon season, which runs June through September. After a successful deviation with our After Dark issue, we’re excited to be back at it with seasons and theme writing for this next publication! We absolutely cannot wait to read your next works!
Hammies in the News!
In June we will to celebrate the launch of HamLit author Brittany Micka-Foos’s book It’s No Fun Anymore with her at Village Books! More information on this will be forthcoming, but in the meantime, Congratulations Brittany! We can’t wait to read, enjoy, and promote this incredible accomplishment.
We’re Here Because We’re Here
As the Nerdfighter Community often says “We’re here because we’re here.” That means all the readers, authors, and editors of HamLit are what make our own community possible. We’re looking forward to continuing to shine our blended lights in the world to make things just a little brighter.
Your Editors,
David, Joe, and Rochelle
