Dear Hammies,
The next two weeks are flowing with literary excitement! Between the Chuckanut Writers Conference this weekend, our Flood Memory issue launching July 1st, and celebrating Brittany Micka-Foos' stunning collection debut on July 3rd, we can barely catch our breath. Here's everything you need to know:
Find Us at Chuckanut Writers Conference This Saturday!
We'll be scattered across the conference like seeds on fertile ground! Rochelle will be holding down the HamLit table, Joe will be representing Dark Forest Press, and David will be with Chanticleer. Whether you're attending workshops or just soaking in the literary atmosphere, we'd love to say hello and chat about all things Pacific Northwest writing!
Flood Memory Launches July 1st!
Mark your calendars! Our Monsoon Season issue will be flowing into the world on Tuesday, July 1st. Tell your friends, clear your reading schedule, and get ready for evocative works that explore what's been rushing down the river of time into the present moment. These pieces capture the honest, boundless ways memory surfaces when life overflows its banks.
Celebrating Brittany Micka-Foos at Village Books — July 3rd
We're thrilled to help host the release event for Brittany Micka-Foos' debut collection It's No Fun Anymore at Village Books in Fairhaven! Join us for a panel on unconventional publishing, featuring Brittany, Chloe Hovind from Village Books, and our own Joe Donley – moderated by Rochelle.
Throughout It's No Fun Anymore, Micka-Foos crafts a chilling tapestry of women's lives — from stay-at-home mothers seeking agency to marriages cracking under unexpected pressures. Her stories deftly blend the everyday with the uncanny, creating an eerie familiarity that lingers long after the final page. Seating in the Readings Gallery is limited, so reserve your spot here: https://www.villagebooks.com/event/litlive-brittany-micka-foos-70325
Following the event, we will convene at Corner Taphouse from 7-9PM! RSVP HERE!
